Free Telephone Consultation

I am happy to provide a free 20-minute telephone consultation to potential patients.

Practice Philosophy

Therapy works best when collaboration occurs with your treatment team. If you wish, and with your written authorization, if you are stepping down from an Inpatient Unit, a Residential Program, a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) or an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), I will work with your team to transition you to regular outpatient services. If you are working with a psychiatrist or primary care physician for medication, I am happy to collaborate with your provider with your written permission.

I routinely seek consultation from colleagues in order to enhance my knowledge and to inform treatment. Information that could be used to identify a particular patient is not shared with the consultant so confidentiality is maintained.

I frequently make referrals to other clinicians to enhance your care.

Fees

Fees are collected in full at the time of service.

Fees vary depending on the service and are always calculated to be reasonable as compared to other professionals in the bay area.

Cancellation Policy

Appointments need to be rescheduled and canceled at times. Please call or email as soon as possible. I have a two-working day cancellation policy which means that if an appointment is not rescheduled or cancelled two working days before the appointment, the appointment will be charged to your account.

Insurance

A superbill can be provided by request to submit to your insurance company if you have out-of-network benefits.

You must be aware of

  • Your coverage for behavioral health benefits
  • Your coverage for an out-of-network provider
  • The amount of your deductible
  • The number of visits allowed per calendar year
  • Any limitation on the amount the policy will pay per session

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1.888.466.2219.
